What is a good starters kit for a first time mac makeup buyer?
What is a good starters kit for a first time mac makeup buyer?
I am 13 and am starting to really get into wearing makeup.
i want to start a MAC collection just like juicystar07(blair) has on youtube.
i am getting tan for the summer time, and have brown eyes and brown hair.
i just want to know what would be a good selection of MAC items (brushes and makeup) to start a collection off of.
thank yall so much in advance:)
Your thirteen now. The basics would definitely be eyeliner, concealer, setting powder, blush, eyeshadow, mascara, and lip gloss.
For concealer (about $15.50, I believe): Try MAC Studio Sculpt for under eye circles and zits. It gives very good coverage and the texture of it is great!
For Setting Powder (about $25): Try MAC Mineralized Skinfinish Natural, by the end of the summer you’ll probably need it in medium, but start with light medium at first. I don’t know your exact skin tone though, so ask the MA and they’ll help you find the right shade.
For Blush (between $18 to $21): Try MAC Coppertone blush, MAC Dainty Mineralized Blush (my favorite=]), or MAC Dame Blush.
For eyeliner (about $15.50, I believe) : Try MAC Technakohl Eyeliner in Graphblack. It works great and doesn’t smudge at all. It’s perfect for the summer time.
For eyeshadow ($14.50 each): Try some neutrals, or gold. For a neutral, all-over lid color try All That Glitters, Woodwinked, or Retrospeck (which is my personal favorite=]). For golds, try Gorgeous Gold or Gold Mine eyeshadow.
For lipgloss (which is called lipGLASS at MAC) (between $14 to $18): Try out smile dazzleglass or Florabundance lipglass.

your very young, so if you want to spend at mac i would suggest getting eyeshadow refills and an empty pallette so you can custom create your shades. But, for things like blush, foundation etc i would try cheaper bbrands like revlon, maybelline etc as there are so many variations in finishes, you could end up spending a lot of money then changing your mind. Start out small, with a litte and often from Mac and you’ll get a collection going that you love to use, not a collection of pieces that were impulse buys which you dont wear
also, go to other counters, not just mac and get makeovers, most are free as most companies just want to advertise. this way you’ll get an idea of what is out there, dont feel you have to limit yourself to mac just because juicystar collects it. You may even decide that you love other brands of makeup, my colection is mainly of mac, but i also have heaps of benefit and barrym, and between thesecombinations is me!! makeup is a personal l choice, wear it how you want to, not how others think you should!! makeup is an expression of ourseves, so it has to come from within you!! and most of all- just enjoy experimenting with it!!
For starters, try finding a nearby Sephora or a store like JCPenny that hosts a small Sephora inside. Ask if you can get a free make-up consultant to tell you what colors and types would be good for your face. As for starter kits, again it depends on your facial features, skin tone, and hair color and style. Try starting with eye shadow compacts with customizable color choosing then work your way up. But remember, there are other brands of make-up proffesionals use that aren’t specifically MAC. Theres Ben Nye, ***** Slap! cosmetics, Coastal Scents, and others. If you want someone to go to for recomendations, try monroemisfitmakeup on youtube. She does tutorials and make-up brand reviews. Hope this helped.
P.S.- Ben Nye is stage make-up, but a lot of proffesionals use it for photoshoots and personal use as well.
Get an eyeshadow palette and a few eyeshadows. MAC blush is awesome, try Pink Swoon. The Naked Honey collection just came out, so get one of the pressed beauty powders. And get a beloved lipstick like Angel (think Kim Kardashian).
